Introduction
Honda Amaze Crystal Black Pearl is now available in India, adding a new premium shade to the 3rd-gen compact sedan’s colour palette and targeting style-conscious, younger buyers who prefer darker finishes. It’s a cosmetic update and the new colour is available across V, VX and ZX trims without changing specifications or variant strategy. Because the Amaze now caters to a popular trend – black-themed aesthetics – without changing the value equation that makes it appealing.
New colour, wider appeal
- Crystal Black Pearl joins six existing shades, making it seven in total and is available on all three trims from day one.
- Honda says black is growing in popularity among younger buyers and this colour will enhance the Amaze’s road presence and premium feel.
- No exterior design changes come with the colour; the compact sedan format and signature lighting remains the same.
Interior and features
- The cabin gets the latest update: 8-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and 7-inch colour TFT MID for key driving data.
- Honda Sensing is a key differentiator, making the Amaze one of the most affordable ADAS equipped passenger cars in India with features like Adaptive Cruise Control, CMBS and LKAS on higher trims.
- Six airbags, ABS with EBD, VSA and hill-start assist are part of the safety package depending on variant.
Engine and performance
- The sedan continues with the 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder SOHC i-VTEC petrol engine with 5-speed manual or CVT automatic.
- Outputs remain around 90 PS and 110 Nm, in line with segment norms for urban-friendly driving and efficiency.
- ARAI certified efficiency is up to 18.65 km/l (MT) and 19.46 km/l (CVT) which keeps the Amaze competitive on daily running costs.
Price and availability
No separate price has been announced for the Crystal Black Pearl; the colour is available across the existing V, VX, and ZX trims. The 3rd-gen Amaze range is currently priced between ₹8.10 lakh and ₹11.20 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), though Honda has announced that prices will be reduced from September 22 as a result of the new GST 2.0 reforms, making the car even more affordable. The new colour is available now, with broader dealer availability to follow in regular inventory cycles.

Competition and positionin
- In the compact sedan space, the Amaze competes with Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Aura and Tata Tigor with a petrol-only lineup and strong safety-tech.
- Crystal Black Pearl is the current black-themed trend across segments, so the Amaze gets showroom freshness without a hardware update.
- With ADAS in higher trims and competitive efficiency, the Amaze remains a tech-savvy value proposition for first-time and family buyers.
Conclusion
The Crystal Black Pearl is a simple way to add more appeal to the Amaze for younger, style conscious buyers without changing the ownership costs and specs – timely as black editions are gaining traction across the segment.
