BMW’s Entry-Level Sedan Just Got a Whole Lot Sharper
BMW has launched the updated 2025 2 Series Gran Coupe in India and it’s trying very hard to look expensive without being the most expensive. You get sleeker lines, a fancy new dual-screen layout inside and – surprise – it’s powered by a tiny 1.5L turbo-petrol engine with just 156 bhp. Yes, a baby engine for a baby Bimmer. But don’t roll your eyes just yet.
Let’s talk numbers. The new 2 Series comes in two trims: 218i M Sport at ₹46.90 lakh and the more decked-out M Sport Pro at ₹48.90 lakh (ex-showroom). BMW knows we love badges, so they gave us two.
Under the hood you get a 3-cylinder engine mated to a 7-speed DCT, driving the front wheels – because apparently rear-wheel drive fun is for the rich kids now. Still, it does 0-100 kmph in 8.6 seconds which is respectable for something that’s technically entry-level but still thinks it’s fancy.

So, What’s New in the 2025 2 Series Gran Coupe?
So, what’s new? The car is now 4,546 mm long, a tad bigger than before and still fits in the “compact luxury” box. Boot space is 430 litres and ground clearance is “good enough for India” (read: your daily speed breaker battles won’t be disastrous).
But the real flex is inside:
- Inside, the dashboard now rocks a sleek, all-digital setup with a 10.7-inch touchscreen smoothly blended into a 10.25-inch driver’s display, both powered by BMW’s latest iDrive OS9.
- Wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto (finally).
- A panoramic sunroof, because you gotta show the sky off.
- 360-degree camera, Digital Key, and ADAS safety features.
- Oh, and massage seats – because even the entry-level Beemer wants to pamper you now.
If you’re the kind of person who wants a BMW badge, loves tech and doesn’t mind a small engine as long as you get a massage seat – well, this might be your next driveway flex.
