Upcoming Mahindra SUVs and EVs including Thar.e and XUV.e8

Mahindra is about to turn the Indian car scene on its head. I’ve been closely watching the brand’s moves for a while now, and if what’s coming in the next year or so is anything to go by, we’re in for something big, something bold.

When I think of Mahindra today, I don’t just picture rugged SUVs tearing through dusty trails. I also see electric concepts glowing under auto show lights, LED strips slicing through the dark, and a quiet but confident shift toward the future. Yes, the future is electric, and Mahindra knows it.

XUV.e8, XUV 3XO EV and Born Electric Lineup

I’ve seen the XUV.e8 test mules out there, camouflaged but unmistakable. This one’s special. It’s essentially an all-electric XUV700, built on Mahindra’s fresh INGLO platform. It’s expected to break cover by late 2025, and I can already imagine it rolling up silently but with presence, packed with fast charging tech and design details that scream “next-gen.”

And that’s just the beginning.

There’s also the XUV 3XO EV, a smaller electric SUV that’s likely to slot below the XUV400. The word is, it’ll offer a range of around 450 km, more than enough for daily runs and a spontaneous road trip or two. What caught my eye, though, are the Born Electric models: the BE.05, BE.07, and BE.09. These aren’t just electric versions of existing cars. They’re something else, concepts brought to life, futuristic in design and probably packed with cutting-edge features. The BE.07 could land by October 2026.

Oh, and the Thar? It’s going electric too. The Thar.e has already made a dramatic concept debut, and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t curious to see how Mahindra keeps its rugged spirit alive without the rumble of a diesel engine. It’s expected to hit the market by March 2026.

Bolero Neo, Bolero, XUV700, Scorpio N, Thar Facelift and XUV500

Electric dreams aside, Mahindra hasn’t forgotten the crowd-pleasers. The Bolero Neo is getting a facelift, and from what I’ve gathered, we might see it in near-production form on August 15, 2025. A new-gen Bolero is also on the cards for late 2026, and this could be a big shift, think panoramic sunroof, ADAS, maybe even a modular platform underneath.

The XUV700, Scorpio N, and even the iconic Thar (3-door) are due for updates by 2026. Expect sleeker designs, better tech, and subtle nods to Mahindra’s new EV design language. I’m particularly intrigued by the upcoming XUV700 facelift, it could blend the muscular stance we know with the crisp edges and LED signature of the BE range.

And just when I thought the XUV500 name was done and dusted, it’s reportedly making a comeback by the end of 2025. Can’t wait to see what that looks like.

Global Pik Up Truck

There’s also the Global Pik Up, yes, Mahindra’s going global with a fresh pickup truck based on the Scorpio N. It’s not just a commercial workhorse; it’s being shaped as a lifestyle vehicle too, aimed at a broader audience. If all goes to plan, we could see it on roads by January 2026.

Mahindra isn’t just throwing new models out there. They’re crafting a lineup with clear intent, balancing legacy, innovation, and the very real need to adapt to a changing market. With over 20 new products planned before the decade wraps up, including 7 dedicated electric vehicles, the road ahead looks busy. But more importantly, it looks exciting.

I don’t know about you, but I’m already looking forward to the test drives.
