Vietnamese electric vehicle maker VinFast has officially kicked off its India showroom launch with the opening of its first outlet in Surat, Gujarat. This marks the brand’s formal entry into the country’s growing EV space.
Located in the busy Piplod area, this is a big step before the brand’s Tamil Nadu factory inauguration next month. The Surat showroom features VinFast’s debut India models, the VF 6 and VF 7, specially configured with right-hand drive for Indian roads.
Inside the First VinFast India Showroom Launch
Spread over 3,000 square feet, the showroom is operated by Chandan Car, a well known name in the Indian dealership space. It’s designed to give customers a full EV experience, to see the brand’s features, design language and tech-first approach up close.
Customers can reserve the VF 6 or VF 7 starting July 15 by placing a fully refundable ₹21,000 token, either at the Surat showroom or through VinFastAuto.in.
VinFast India Plans: What’s Coming Next
VinFast’s India entry isn’t just about selling EVs – it’s about building a complete ecosystem:
- VinFast plans to expand swiftly, targeting a network of 35 outlets in over 27 cities by late 2025.
- Local production from a $500 million facility in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu starting August
- Annual capacity of 1.5 lakh units
- Strategic partnerships with RoadGrid, myTVS, and Global Assure will support nationwide EV charging, servicing, and 24/7 roadside assistance.
