Renault Duster Hybrid India Launch – Renault’s new-gen Duster is all set for a big comeback and a strong hybrid is part of the plan. While the petrol model arrives first in early 2026, the Renault Duster Hybrid will follow by late 2026 or early 2027.

Hybrid Coming in 2026 End

Renault will start production of the next-gen Duster at its Chennai plant in September 2025 and the petrol model will launch in early 2026. The real game-changer though is the strong hybrid which will arrive 6-12 months later. It’s aimed at redefining the brand’s SUV image in India with cleaner tech and better city mileage.

Powertrain and Performance

The Renault Duster Hybrid will have a 1.6-litre petrol engine paired with two electric motors including a high-voltage starter-generator. The setup will deliver around 140 bhp and will have an electric automatic transmission. Backed by a 1.2kWh battery, Renault claims up to 80% pure EV drive in city conditions and promises good fuel savings for urban users.

Tech-Loaded Cabin, Modern Design

Built on the global CMF-B platform, the new Duster will have a tougher and more upright design inspired by the Dacia Bigster concept. Inside expect a 10.1-inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 7-inch digital driver’s display and wireless phone charging. Other features may include automatic climate control, ventilated seats and possibly a panoramic sunroof.

Safety Takes the Front Seat

Renault will equip the new Duster with Level 2 ADAS including lane keep assist, traffic sign recognition and automatic emergency braking. A 360-degree camera and likely six airbags will be part of the safety package setting new benchmarks in this segment.

Pricing & Rivals

The Renault Duster Hybrid will start at around Rs 12-13 lakh, roughly Rs 2-2.5 lakh more than the petrol model. It will compete with hybrid rivals like Toyota Hyryder, Maruti Grand Vitara, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos.Renault is also working on a CNG variant to further expand the lineup.
