KTM has just launched the 2026 KTM 690 Enduro R and 2026 KTM 690 SMC R, with big updates in performance, electronics and design to keep these single-cylinder icons ahead in the dual-sport and supermoto segments.
Engine Upgrades 2026
Both models are powered by the legendary 693cc LC4 single-cylinder engine, with over half of its parts updated. The result is 79 PS and 73 Nm and meets Euro 5+ standards with smoother power delivery.
Key changes include a new crankcase, clutch and stator covers, new oil system for more reliability. High-pressure fuel pump for better throttle response, rubber engine mounts to reduce vibrations. Service intervals are extended – oil changes at 15,000 km and valve clearance checks at 60,000 km.
Modern Tech Inside
The outdated LCD unit has been swapped for a 4.2-inch colour TFT screen, offering KTMConnect support for navigation, music control, and call functions. Standard equipment now includes lean-angle sensitive Cornering ABS and Cornering MTC.
The 690 Enduro R can be fitted with RALLY Mode, adding Dynamic Slip Adjust to fine-tune traction on varying terrain, while the 690 SMC R’s TRACK Mode brings launch control and adjustable anti-wheelie with five sensitivity levels.
Chassis and Styling Updates
Frame stiffness is increased for better handling, WP suspension settings revised for a better mix of off-road capability and on-road comfort. Both bikes have new bodywork, new LED headlight and more aggressive stance.
Launch Timing
Production has already started in Mattighofen, Austria. The 2026 KTM 690 Enduro R and 2026 KTM 690 SMC R will hit KTM dealerships from September 2025. Pricing will be announced closer to launch.
