When Mahindra pulled the curtains off its latest concept lineup, it felt more like a statement of intent than a regular car launch. The Mahindra Vision Cars are bold, futuristic and designed not just for India but for the world. Each SUV has its own personality but together they paint a clear picture of where the brand is headed by 2027.
NU_IQ Platform: The Future is Here
At the heart of these concepts is the NU_IQ platform, Mahindra’s new versatile base that can power petrol, hybrid and full-electric SUVs. What caught my attention was the flat floor design. It’s the kind of detail that might seem small but imagine the comfort of stretching out in the backseat of an SUV while still enjoying that tall, commanding driving position.
Meet the Four Concepts
The Vision.T feels like the next step for the legendary Thar, keeping its tough silhouette but with a sharper, more modern twist. The Vision.S is a smaller, city-friendly SUV with a Scorpio-like attitude, perfect for those who want practicality without losing presence. Then there’s the Vision.X, sleek and athletic, aimed right at the Hyundai Creta. And finally, the Vision.SXT, a rugged pickup concept that blends lifestyle with utility, with an adventure-ready loading bay.
Design That Connects
Mahindra’s design team calls this new philosophy Heartcore and it shows. The Vision Cars strike a balance between heritage and future-forward design, tough lines mixed with smooth, futuristic edges. Standing in front of them, it’s easy to feel that emotional pull Mahindra is going for.
Going into production by 2027, these Mahindra Vision Cars will take the brand beyond its traditional markets. For anyone who loves SUVs, this was a glimpse of a global future on four wheels.
