Mahindra has confirmed that the Mahindra Vision S will launch in 2027. Unveiled at Mahindra’s “Freedom NU World Premiere” showcase, the Vision S points toward the brand’s next chapter in styling, technology, and worldwide reach. The company calls it part of its “Global Vision 2027” roadmap which also previewed three other concepts.
Exterior
The Vision S is a rugged modern SUV often compared to a “mini Land Rover Defender”. It has a bold upright stance with L-shaped LED headlamps, flared wheel arches with black cladding and a tailgate mounted spare wheel that screams adventure. Add to that flush door handles and camera based rearview mirrors.
Interior and Features
Inside the Mahindra Vision S is a premium cabin with a dual screen setup for infotainment and instrumentation. A new three spoke steering wheel and panoramic glass roof points towards a more tech and comfort driven experience. The SUV is expected to run on Mahindra’s latest NU UX system, designed to offer a smoother and more intuitive user experience.
Platform and Engineering
The upcoming Vision S will sit on Mahindra’s new NU_IQ modular monocoque platform, engineered to handle multiple powertrains including petrol, diesel, and electric. It will also have the flexibility to offer FWD and AWD layouts. Notably this platform has a flat floor design which is a first for Mahindra’s ICE SUVs and will offer best in class cabin space and comfort. Safety is also a priority with the structure designed to achieve 5-star Global NCAP and Euro NCAP ratings.
Global Push and Market Impact
The arrival of the Mahindra Vision S in 2027 will mark a turning point for the brand’s SUV portfolio. It’s Mahindra’s intent to strengthen its SUV lineup in India and take the fight global with design forward products that can cater to both right hand and left hand drive markets.
