Maruti Fronx 5 Lakh Production Milestone
Maruti Suzuki confirmed that the Fronx has rolled out its 5 lakh unit within 28 months of launch, making it one of the quickest-rising compact SUVs across India and export markets.
First showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo and launched in April, the Fronx quickly stood out for its SUV-coupe styling and wide range of engines. Within 10 months, it crossed the 1 lakh sales mark, and by February 2025, it hit a record monthly tally of more than 21,400 units.
Global Presence
The Maruti Fronx 5 lakh production milestone also reflects its strong performance in global markets, not just India. The SUV is also a key export model, with exports to over 80 countries including Latin America, Middle East and Africa. In fact it was the most exported passenger vehicle from India in FY 2024-25.
Notably the Fronx is also the first Maruti Suzuki SUV to be exported to Japan, a historic milestone for the brand. Currently one in every five units produced is exported.

Built on Heartect platform, the Fronx comes with multiple engine options to suit different buyers:

In terms of features, the Fronx comes equipped with a Head-Up Display, a 360-degree camera, wireless charging, and a 9-inch SmartPlay Pro+ screen that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Safety has also been a focus with six airbags, ESC and Hill Hold Assist as standard across all trims.

The Fronx competes with Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon and Mahindra XUV 3XO. With its rapid growth and increasing global presence the SUV has strengthened Maruti’s position in the highly competitive compact SUV space.
