The Kawasaki Z1100 has been revealed globally with a 1,099cc inline-four making 136 hp and 113 Nm, UK prices start at £11,099 and first deliveries from January 2026.

Specs and performance

Kawasaki’s new Z1100 uses a liquid-cooled, DOHC, 16-valve inline-four 1,099cc engine tuned for mid-range use with 136 hp at 9,000 rpm and 113 Nm at 7,600 rpm and a 6-speed gearbox with assist and slipper clutch. EU curb mass is 221 kg, seat height 815 mm and an aluminum twin-tube frame from Kawasaki’s big Z platform.

Features and tech

5-inch TFT display in the cockpit with smartphone connectivity, IMU-assisted traction and chassis management, cruise control, bi-directional quickshifter, KIBS ABS and four riding modes for all-weather. SE gets Brembo hardware and steel-braided brake lines for more feel, on top of the standard bike’s dual 310 mm discs and monobloc calipers.

Chassis, suspension, brakes

Front suspension is a fully adjustable Showa SFF-BP fork, rear shock is a horizontal back-link. SE gets an Öhlins S46 with remote preload adjuster for road setup. SE has Brembo M4.32 radial monoblocs and 310 mm discs, standard bike has Kawasaki/Tokico-branded monoblocs on same disc size.

Prices and availability

UK prices start at £11,099, SE at £12,699, both will be in dealers from January 2026 per launch guidance. European delivery is the same, global rollouts will follow through 2026 depending on market approvals and allocation.

Design and positioning

Styling is similar to the Z1000’s Sugomi shape, single muffler and subtle shrouds, positions the Z1100 between the Z900 and the supercharged Z H2 in Kawasaki’s streetfighter range. SE trim and premium brakes are for riders who want more spec out of the box.

Expert comment

Editorial verdict is that Kawasaki is focusing on real-world grunt with the taller gearing and mid-range tune compared to the old Z1000, for more in-gear pull and calmer cruising. IMU-based electronics, cruise control and quickshifter modernises the big Z without chasing peak power in the class.

UK price and India plans

UK pricing is announced, India plans are not. If launched, it will be CBU and positioned above the Z900, likely to rival Honda’s CB1000 Hornet SP on price and spec. Historically the Z1000 was sold in India, so it’s possible if Kawasaki sees demand in the liter-class naked space.

Closing note

Big Z is back with mature mid-range performance, full-suite electronics, and a clear value split between standard and SE – watch for UK deliveries from January 2026 and an India decision that could reshape the liter-class naked field.
