BMW has launched the BMW 3 Series ‘50 Jahre Edition’ in India to celebrate 50 years of the iconic sports sedan. Priced at Rs 64 lakh (ex-showroom), only 50 units will be available making it a true collector’s edition for enthusiasts.

Design

The ‘50 Jahre Edition’ gets exclusive heritage badging on the front, rear and wheels. The M High-Gloss Shadowline package adds blacked out grille, window surrounds and tailpipes for a sportier look. Inside, you will find a laser-engraved “1/50” badge on the B-pillar, highlighting the car’s rarity.

Powertrain

BMW is offering the edition in two variants:

• BMW 330Li M Sport ‘50 Jahre Edition’ – 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbo petrol producing 258 hp and 400 Nm. 0-100 km/h in 6.2 seconds.
• BMW M340i ‘50 Jahre Edition’ – 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder turbo engine with 374 hp and 500 Nm. With xDrive AWD, it does 0-100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds, making it the fastest locally produced ICE car in India.

Cabin and Tech

The interior is loaded with luxury. A BMW Curved Display integrates a 12.3-inch digital cluster and a 14.9-inch infotainment system. Other features include Harman Kardon surround sound system, wireless charging and panoramic glass roof on the 330Li. M340i also gets M Sport brakes and 19-inch Jet Black alloys with red calipers.

Collector’s Edition

To add to its exclusivity, every M340i buyer will also get a 1:18 scale model of the BMW 3.0 CSL, a classic icon from the 1970s. This is a nice touch to the edition’s collectibility.

The BMW 330Li M Sport ’50 Jahre Edition’ is priced at Rs 64 lakh, while the BMW M340i ’50 Jahre Edition’ costs Rs 76.9 lakh (ex-showroom). Both are available exclusively through BMW’s online shop in India.
