Citroen C3X India Launch: An image of the new crossover sedan on a road.

Citroen has finally launched the Citroen C3X India and it’s a crossover sedan for those who want SUV practicality with sedan style. Priced from ₹7.90 lakh (ex-showroom), the C3X comes with 15 new features, unique design and multiple powertrain options to disrupt the market. Deliveries start in early September 2025.

SUV Stance with Sedan Style

The C3X uses Citroen’s C-Cubed architecture, the same base as the C3 hatchback and C3 Aircross, but distinguishes itself with a coupe-like sloping roof and a healthy 180 mm ground clearance for tackling varied Indian roads. Citroen calls it a “crossover sedan” but the coupe-like silhouette gives it a sporty look while keeping the rugged proportions to handle Indian roads.

15 New Features

Citroen has loaded the C3X with safety, tech and convenience features. Key safety kit now covers six airbags, stability control, hill-start assist, ABS with EBD, and a system to monitor tyre pressures.

For tech enthusiasts there’s a 10.25-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, 360-degree camera with seven viewing modes, Proxi-Sense keyless entry with push-start, cruise control and automatic climate control. The lighting setup is fully LED, with projector headlamps and integrated fog lamps adding a modern, upscale touch.

Two Engine Options

You can choose from:

  • 1.2-litre NA petrol – 82 PS, 5-speed manual
  • 1.2-litre turbo-petrol – 110 PS, 6-speed manual or automatic, 0–100 kmph in under 10 seconds, 19.3 kmpl ARAI fuel efficiency

The turbo variant is fast without compromising on mileage.

Positioning and Competition

The Citroen C3X will compete with upcoming models like Tata Curvv, mid-size sedans like Hyundai Verna and Skoda Slavia and compact SUVs like Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. Citroen’s heavy localization and “made for India” approach will help keep the ownership costs in check.
