Honda Shine 100 DX India Launch on August 1
Honda is all set to launch the updated Honda Shine 100 DX in India on August 1. This new version brings smarter tech, subtle design changes and commuter focused upgrades to Honda’s most affordable motorcycle.
What’s New in the Shine 100 DX?
Shine 100 DX gets more practicality and style. The biggest highlight is its all-digital instrument cluster that shows real time mileage, distance to empty and a service reminder – features not seen in this price range.
Design wise it now has new graphics, chrome finished muffler cover, all black engine casing and grab rail giving it a slightly premium look.
Enhanced for Everyday Use
Honda has added a few useful features to make daily commute easier:
- 10 litre fuel tank for longer range (up from 9 litres)
- Tubeless tyres on 17 inch alloy wheels for convenience
- Side stand engine cut off for safety
- 5 step adjustable rear shock absorbers for smoother ride
Despite all these updates the bike retains its commuter friendly ergonomics with single piece seat and 103 kg kerb weight.
Same Trusted Engine Underneath
Shine 100 DX continues with the tried and tested 98.98cc single cylinder fuel injected engine producing 7.28 bhp and 8.04 Nm. It’s matched with a smooth 4-speed transmission and Honda’s Enhanced Smart Power (eSP) tech, helping the bike deliver better fuel efficiency and a relaxed riding experience.
Braking is handled by drum brakes at both ends with Honda’s Combined Braking System (CBS) as standard.
Expected Price and Rivals
Shine 100 DX is expected to be priced around ₹72,000 (ex-showroom). Once launched it will rival:
- Hero Splendor Plus Xtec
- Bajaj Platina 100
- TVS Radeon
With all these new features Honda is all set to shake up the 100cc segment again.
