The Li Auto i8 electric SUV has officially made its debut, with deliveries scheduled to begin on August 20. With great range, fast charging and a family-first cabin, the Li Auto i8 is ready to take on the Tesla Model Y L and Onvo L90.
New Design, Loaded Interior
The i8 has a yacht-inspired design and a super-low 0.218 drag coefficient, so it’s both aerodynamic and quiet. It’s 5,085mm long and has a 3,050mm wheelbase, with MPV-like space and SUV presence.
Inside, the six-seat cabin has a 2+2+2 layout with luxury touches:
- Massaging captain chairs in the second row
- Dual 15.7-inch 2.5K displays for passengers
- Panoramic glass roof
- Smart tech like head-up display and dual wireless chargers
The Li Xiang Tong Xue AI assistant can order food, pay for parking and more, all backed by the brand’s in-house MindGPT model.
Powertrain and Range: No Compromise
All variants have a dual-motor AWD setup with 400kW (536hp) and 660Nm torque, 0–100km/h in 4.5 seconds.
What sets the i8 apart is the battery:
- i8 Pro: 90.1kWh battery, 670km CLTC range
- i8 Max & Ultra: 97.8kWh battery, 720km CLTC range
And then there’s the 5C ultra-fast charging – add 500km of range in 10 minutes, if you find the right supercharger. Li Auto has 3,000 fast-charging stations, including 1,000 on highways across 250 cities.
Smarter Drive, Smoother Ride
The i8 isn’t just fast – it’s smart. The i8 Pro has the Li AD Pro suite with a Horizon J6M chip, while the Max and Ultra trims have LiDAR-based AD Max assisted driving, powered by NVIDIA’s Thor-U chip.Double-chamber air suspension with adjustable ride height to tackle rough roads or load up with ease, max ground clearance of 196mm.
