Every time Mahindra drops a teaser before August 15, I know something big is coming. This year feels even bigger. Four new SUV concepts are set to break cover this Independence Day, and two of them already have everyone talking — an electric Thar and a Scorpio-based SUV.
Let’s start with the Thar EV, possibly shown as the Vision.T. Just the idea of a rugged, off-road-ready Thar running on electric power is wild. Think silent drives through the forest, no exhaust fumes, just pure torque and freedom. If this is where Thar is headed, I’m all in.
Then there’s the Scorpio-based SUV, likely the Vision.S. It seems to hold on to the tall, tough DNA of the Scorpio, but with a twist. Maybe electric. Maybe hybrid. But definitely something built for both power and presence.
Joining them are two more: Vision.SXT, which looks like a utility-focused brute, maybe a modern-day pickup for the adventurous kind, and Vision.X, which seems perfect for city folks — compact, clean, and likely all-electric.
All four sit on Mahindra’s new Freedom NU platform, a clever bit of engineering that supports electric, hybrid, and traditional engines. Mahindra is clearly thinking ahead, not just in design but in how these machines will run.
