MG has entered the premium electric MPV segment. The MG M9 EV launched in India today at an introductory price of Rs 69.90 lakh (ex-showroom). It’s the brand’s flagship EV and will be sold through MG’s new premium chain, MG Select.
This electric MPV was first showcased at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo and is essentially a rebadged version of the global Maxus MIFA 9. With space, comfort and sustainability in focus, the M9 EV is aimed at high-end chauffeur-driven buyers.
What’s Under the Bonnet
The M9 EV is powered by a 90 kWh NMC battery pack, producing 245 PS and 350 Nm of torque through a front-mounted electric motor. MG claims a MIDC-certified range of 548 km on a full charge, making it one of the top contenders in the segment.
Charging is done via an 11 kW wall box charger and a 3.3 kW portable charger, both are included with the vehicle.

Inside, MG has loaded in plenty of premium features to make the travel experience better:
- The second-row seats offer 16 levels of electric adjustment and come equipped with massage, ventilation, and heating for top-tier passenger comfort.
- A pair of sunroofs light up the cabin, including a wide panoramic unit dedicated to rear occupants.
- A sleek 12.23-inch central display supports wireless smartphone connectivity, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
- 7-inch digital instrument cluster
- 13-speaker JBL audio system
- Three-zone climate control and electric rear sliding doors
- Practical bits like a 55-litre frunk and Digital IRVM
Safety and Tech
Safety is strong with a 5-star Euro NCAP rating, 7 airbags and Level 2 ADAS features. These include adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assist, and more.
It also has Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) capabilities, to charge external devices or other EVs directly from the M9.
