My social feeds have been flooded with one headline: Splendor Electric Bike 2025 launched! At first it sounds like a dream. Imagine India’s most trusted commuter, the Hero Splendor, reborn as a modern EV with massive range. But as I dug deeper, the story wasn’t as simple as those viral posts made it out to be.
The truth is different. Hero MotoCorp is working on an official splendor electric bike but it’s not coming in 2025. Industry reports suggest the project is real but still in development, will launch around 2027. Till then all those posts about 300 km range and 2025 launch are just hype.
That doesn’t mean Splendor fans have nothing to look forward to. A Mumbai based startup, GoGoA1, has developed an RTO approved kit that can convert any old petrol Splendor (1997 model onwards) into a fully electric bike. Riders are already using these conversions in city traffic and the difference is visible. No petrol smell, no engine noise, just smooth ride.
The kit has a 2 kW motor with good torque and can touch around 75-80 km/h. Depending on the battery you get up to 151 km range, perfect for daily use. The conversion costs around ₹1 lakh but with rising fuel prices it feels like a smart long term move.
So what’s the truth? The viral news about 2025 factory launch is misleading. What’s real is the conversion kit that lets you ride a splendor electric bike today. The official Hero EV will come but we will have to wait longer for that.
