Say hello to Subaru’s first serious electric adventure wagon – the Subaru E-Outback electric off-road estate is finally official.Launching globally in 2026, this rugged EV estate combines the brand’s off-road DNA with modern electric performance.

Muscle EV Performance, Off-Road Ready

Powering the E-Outback is a dual-motor EV system that delivers a punchy 375 bhp (280 kW), launching it from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds – making it among the quickest Subarus to date.

As expected from Subaru, off-road ability is top priority:

  • Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive for traction on any surface
  • 210 mm ground clearance for rough terrain
  • Dual-Function X-Mode for snow, dirt and mud
  • EV Torque Vectoring for cornering control
  • Towing capacity up to 1,588 kg (3,500 lbs)

Battery, Charging, Everyday Use

Powering the E-Outback is a 74.7 kWh battery, expected to deliver over 260 miles (around 420 km) between charges. For fast charging, it supports 150 kW DC fast charging and can go from 10% to 80% in under 35 minutes.

North American models come with the NACS plug so you can access Tesla’s Supercharger network.

Interior: Tough Yet Luxe

Subaru hasn’t skimped on the comforts inside. Key features include:

Global Debut, But Will It Come to India?

First shown at the 2025 New York Auto Show, the E-Outback will hit North American roads in Spring 2026 as the Trailseeker, and Europe in Summer 2026 as the E-Outback.Though there’s no official India launch yet, its off-road and eco credentials could make it a great EV SUV for future markets like India.
