The electric sportbike segment in India is heating up and two of the most talked about contenders are the Ultraviolette F77 and the Oben Rorr. While both offer futuristic styling and emission free performance, their approach to power, range and pricing is different for different kind of riders.

Design and Tech: Premium vs Playful

The Ultraviolette F77 plays the premium card, with aggressive bodywork, sharp angles and a futuristic LED lighting setup. It feels like a performance machine. The Oben Rorr is more retro-futuristic, with café racer styling and upright ergonomics that makes it a friendlier urban commuter.

Inside the cockpit, the F77 has a 5-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, ride modes and real time telemetry. The Rorr has a basic digital dash and smart features like remote diagnostics and geo-fencing in the EZ variant.

Performance and Range: Two Different Lanes

Under the bodywork, the Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2 Recon has a 30.2 kW electric motor, 95 Nm of torque and a top speed of 155 kmph. It accelerates from 0-60 kmph in just 2.8 seconds, one of the fastest e-bikes in India. The range is 323 km (IDC) with a 10.3 kWh battery.

Charging durations depend on the setup – expect 0 to 80 percent in about 3 hours with the regular charger, while the faster boost charger can cut that down to roughly 1.5 to 2.5 hours. A complete charge may take anywhere between 5 to 9 hours based on the model and charger type.

The Oben Rorr is lighter at 130–148 kg and has an 8 kW motor that delivers 85 Nm of torque. Top speed is capped at 100 kmph and real world range is around 125 km (IDC). Topping up the battery to around 80 percent usually takes close to 2 hours, with a full charge completing in roughly 3 to 4 hours depending on usage and charger setup.

Price, Warranty and Value

Here’s where the real difference happens. Pricing for the Ultraviolette F77 begins at ₹2.99 lakh, with the top-end Recon variant reaching ₹3.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It also has an industry leading 8-year/8,00,000 km battery warranty.

The Oben Rorr is priced much lower at ₹1.49 lakh (ex-showroom) and while its 3-year/50,000 km warranty is limited, you can opt for an 8-year/80,000 km extended warranty on the EZ variant.
