Xpeng G6 electric SUV makes waves globally – now, it’s India’s turn. With performance that matches the Tesla Model Y and features designed for city-smart drivers, the G6 could be the new entrant in the country’s growing EV space.

Design and Platform

Built on Xpeng’s SEPA 2.0 platform, the G6 has a coupe-SUV design with sharp aerodynamics and sleek details. The cabin is minimalist yet futuristic with a spacious and airy layout thanks to the panoramic glass roof and double-glazed windows that mute outside noise.

Performance and Charging

The G6 is no slacker when it comes to performance. The RWD variant can do 0–100 km/h in over 6 seconds, while the AWD Performance model can do it in under 4 seconds. Range is impressive too with a claimed 570 km (WLTP) on a full charge.

But what could really change the EV game in India is its charging speed. Thanks to its 800V architecture, the G6 can charge from 10% to 80% in 20 minutes – or 12 minutes on newer chargers. There’s even V2L functionality to power external devices directly from the car.

Smart Cabin Tech and Features

Tech takes centre stage inside the G6. A 14.96-inch touchscreen running Xmart OS handles media to climate control while a 10.2-inch digital cluster keeps driving info clear. The cabin also has dual wireless chargers, premium ventilated seats and 571 litres of boot space – it’s smart and practical.

Safety and Driver Assistance

Rated 5 stars by Euro NCAP, the G6 has serious safety tech via the XPILOT ADAS suite. It uses LiDAR, radar and cameras to offer Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Centering, Emergency Braking and even self-parking.

Will Xpeng G6 launch in India?

As of now, there’s no launch date for Xpeng G6 in India. But Xpeng is interested in the region and with local assembly operations starting in Southeast Asia, India might be next. A competitive price and fast charging tech could make it rival not just Tesla but also Hyundai, Kia and BYD.
