If you’ve been waiting for a fresh, performance-packed streetfighter that doesn’t break the bank, the wait is almost over. The KTM 160 Duke is officially coming to India, and it’s shaping up to be a major upgrade over the outgoing 125 Duke. I’ve been following this closely, and everything I’ve seen so far tells me KTM is ready to shake up the 160cc segment.
Let’s talk numbers first. The 160 Duke will be powered by a 160cc liquid-cooled engine, likely derived from the 200 Duke’s proven motor. Expect a healthy 19 to 20 bhp and around 14 to 15 Nm of torque, which puts it ahead of rivals like the Yamaha MT-15 in terms of raw performance.
But what really caught my eye is the hardware. This bike will borrow the same trellis frame from the 200 Duke, along with USD front forks and dual-channel ABS. That’s premium stuff in this price bracket. KTM isn’t just building a new engine, they’re giving us the full package.
Tech lovers, there’s more. The KTM 160 Duke will come with full LED lighting, a TFT display and Bluetooth connectivity. That means sharp visuals, smart features and a bike that feels truly modern.
As for the price, insiders suggest an ex-showroom tag between ₹1.70 lakh to ₹1.90 lakh. It’s not cheap, but for what you’re getting, it’s hard to argue. It’ll take on the likes of the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V and Honda CB Hornet 2.0, and if the ride lives up to expectations, it might just lead the pack.

With the KTM 160 Duke coming to India soon, all eyes are on August 2025. This is more than a launch – it’s KTM’s comeback in the entry-level performance game.
