TVS is all set to enter the adventure motorcycle segment with the Apache RTX 300 and its India launch is expected around August 2025. First seen at the Bharat Mobility Expo and repeatedly spotted on road tests, the bike signals TVS’s serious intent to take on rivals like the Himalayan 450 and KTM 390 Adventure.
Bold ADV Styling With Trail-Ready Hardware
The TVS Apache RTX 300 embraces a true adventure-ready look with its tall stance, extended windscreen, aggressive front beak, and muscular side panels that hint at serious off-road intent. Spy shots hint at split LED headlamps, clean rear section and purposeful road-biased alloy wheels.
Underneath expect a trellis frame, USD front forks and preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear. Braking will be managed by disc brakes at both ends backed by dual-channel ABS. The first version will likely have 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels with dual-purpose tubeless tires. A more hardcore off-road variant with spoke wheels is expected later in the year.
All-New 299cc Engine Developed In-House
At the heart of the bike is the new 299cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine, internally known as the RTX D4. It produces 35 PS at 9,000 rpm and 28.5 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm with a six-speed gearbox. TVS might also offer an assist and slipper clutch for smoother downshifts.
Unlike the Apache RR 310 which uses BMW’s engine, this new motor is fully developed by TVS, reflecting its growing engineering capability and commitment to the segment.
Packed With Rider-Focused Features
True to TVS’s feature-rich DNA, the Apache RTX 300 will come loaded with equipment that matters on long journeys:
- TFT full-color display with SmartXonnect smartphone pairing
- Ride-by-wire throttle supporting multiple ride modes
- Switchable traction control and switchable rear ABS
- Likely inclusion of cruise control for relaxed highway riding
- All-LED lighting for clear visibility
- Adventure-ready ergonomics with upright seating and wide handlebars
Expected Price and Market Rivals
The TVS Apache RTX 300 is expected to be priced between ₹2.60 lakh and ₹2.90 lakh (ex-showroom). That puts it against rivals like the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, KTM 250 Adventure, Suzuki V-Strom SX and BMW G 310 GS.
